Pause
In this poem the stereotype of London being “cold” is used figuratively to describe those days when we feel stuck in a cyclical path of commuting and everyday life. Side note- I love London
The train is a funny thing.
It really consumes any form of personality you have.
Tap in, get the train, tap out. Similar to our lives.
Wake up, go to work, sleep.
It becomes robotic,
It’s almost like we write our own program and we can’t find the off switch.
If I could describe people to a city, I would choose London
London says “I don’t care, don’t bother me”
London drains my positivity
London pushes me to be something that I’m not
London makes and polishes the façade that London forces on my face.
I need a break from London, and find the pause.
Because the train and London just manipulative pessimistic narratives
I want to start getting the bus, the bus driven by my consciousness and transports only people I cherish
I want to move out of London, to a city that cares because -
Because once I get the bus I can look out the window and see what I was and how much better I am.
Once I move out of London I see the upgrade in my environment.
And once I find the pause, I find me.
